Students, read the following Independent Reading Discussion post:
"In the book that i am reading, two girls just got off a bus to their new school. These girls are not human and have magical powers. They hear noises in the distance and go to see what it is. They come across a bunch of little kids annoying a rattlesnake. The older girl recognizes the snake is getting angry and is about to strike at the kids closest to it. She then steps in front of the way and calms the snake down using her mind and the snake slithers away; she left the kids amazed."
I'm left curious about if this older girl with the magical powers will reveal more about her self to the other kids.
This is a good post. It shows that this student is actively reading, and the post makes us curious about the story.

THE BOOK I AM READING IS CALLED WHIRLIGIG. ITS ABOUT A FAMILY WHO NEVERED SPENT TIME TOGETHER OR ACTED LIKE A FAMILY UNTIL THEY MOVED TO A DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOOD. THEY ARE TAKIN LITTLE STEPS TO BECOME A HAPPY FAMILY. I PREDICT THAT THEY WILL BECOME A FAMILY THT CLOSE WITH ECH OTHER.
ReplyDeleteIn the book im reading one of the girls tried unsuccessfully to calm down the snake. A boy named Eric came claiming to know a lot about snakes. He tried to grab the snake and put it in a bush so that it would not bother anyone. The snake struck at him and he claimed that it did not bite him. Then him and one of the girls helped him grab the snake when it was distracted. They took the snake and put it in a bush and it slithered away. Then the boy confessed to the girl that the snake actually did bite him and had injected venom.
ReplyDeleteThe Book Im reading is called "The color of reading" its about a white lady raising 12 mixed children and this was back in the 30's so it was hard to become excepted.
